All data you create in ClutterBuddy — including locations, boxes, items, notes, tags, and photos — is stored locally on your device by default.
If you choose to enable cloud sync, your inventory data and photos are also stored in your personal cloud account:
This data is only accessible to you and to ClutterBuddy — it is not visible to other apps or users.
ClutterBuddy offers an optional Google Sign-In feature on Android. If you choose to sign in with Google:
drive.appdata scope). This is a private, app-specific folder in your Google Drive that is not visible in your normal Drive files. We do not access any other files in your Google Drive, and we do not share your Google account information with third parties.
On iOS, ClutterBuddy can optionally sync your data using iCloud. iCloud sync uses your device's existing Apple ID — no additional sign-in is required. Your inventory data and photos are stored in a private iCloud container accessible only to ClutterBuddy. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the Settings screen.
The App allows you to export your inventory data as a local JSON backup file and import it back. These files remain entirely on your device and are not transmitted to any server unless you choose to share them manually.
Advertising data: The App uses Google Mobile Ads to display banner advertisements. Google's ad SDK may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. The App declares the AD_ID permission for this purpose. No advertising data is collected until you have completed the consent flow (see "Ad Consent and Your Choices" below).
Network state: The App checks your network connectivity status (Wi-Fi vs. cellular) to determine when to perform background sync. This information is not stored or transmitted.
When you attach a photo to a box or item, the image is processed (resized for thumbnails and detail views) and saved to the App's private storage on your device. If you take a new photo using the in-app camera, a copy may also be saved to your device's photo gallery.
If Google Drive sync is enabled, photos are uploaded to your private Google Drive application data folder. Photos are not shared with any other external service.
The App uses your device camera to:
Camera access requires your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
The App can read and write NFC tags to link physical stickers to your boxes. NFC data is processed entirely on your device and is not transmitted to any server.
ClutterBuddy displays banner ads powered by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google may use cookies, device identifiers, and advertising IDs to serve and measure ads. For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
ClutterBuddy obtains your consent before collecting any advertising data. The App delays all ad-related data collection until you have completed the consent flow.
Based on your choices, ads are served as either personalized or non-personalized. The App works the same regardless of your selection.
